Highfalutin

I made No Falling a New Year's Resolution once, in 1989. No fooling. After a New Year's Eve flip over the railing at some reggae bar in Atlanta, I vowed the next day, while walking with S in gorgeous sunny Piedmont Park, that I would give up falling in the new year, and exactly as I was saying this, a jogger passing us by seriously and hideously wiped out by our side, crash and roadburn and everything, so that sealed it then and No Falling '89 became slogan, and I was pretty successful at it that year ; )
